PIU is the Danish abbreviation for Praktik I Udlandet, which means practical training abroad for apprentices. The PIU scheme allows apprentices to work and undertake training in a company outside Denmark as part of their Danish vocational education training (VET) programme. Thousands of Danish enterprises and apprentices have taken advantage of this opportunity.
