In 2024, Minister for Higher Education and Science Christina Egelund appointed a committee tasked with updating the Danish Code of Integrity in Research from 2014. The committee completed its work in 2025.
The revision was prompted by developments in national and international research collaboration, Open Science, academic freedom, and artificial intelligence (AI).
Since the publication of the Danish Code of Integrity in Research in 2014, a law on scientific misconduct has also been enacted, and a national committee on scientific misconduct has been established. These developments are reflected in the updated code.
