In 2024, the Minister for Higher Education and Science, Christina Egelund, appointed a committee to update the Danish Code of Conduct for Research Integrity from 2014. The committee concluded its work in 2025.
The revision was prompted by developments in national and international research collaboration, Open Science, academic freedom, and artificial intelligence (AI).
Since the publication of the Danish Code of Integrity in Research in 2014, the Danish Act on Research Misconduct etc. has been adopted, and the Danish Board on Research Misconduct has been established. These developments are reflected in the updated Code.
