Monitoring of green research, development and innovation

Following up on the then Government’s “Green solutions of the future – Strategy for investments in green research, technology, and innovation” from September 2020, Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science has strengthen the monitoring of green research – both research grants, research expenditure and research publications.

In September 2020, the then Government published Denmark’s first national strategy for investments in green research, technology and innovation. One initiative in the strategy was to strengthen the monitoring of green research, which is why the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science has established a basis for monitoring green research, development and innovation in relation to both research grants, research expenditure and research publications.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Science has established an overall definition of green research, development and innovation including seven subtopics to be used across UFM in strategies, analyses, surveys, mapping, monitoring and other initiatives in connection with the green transition:

In connection with the then Government's green research strategy "Green solutions of the future" from September 2020 and the negotiations on the distribution of the Research Reserve in 2021, four green missions were politically agreed upon:
