There are four call deadlines in 2026:
Application deadlines for 2027 are expected to be announced by the end of 2026.
If you are coordinator of a consortium, partner in a consortium or single applicant without a consortium, you can apply for funding to cover expenses related to preparing your application to a wide range of programmes under Horizon Europe (incl. partnerships and missions) and the European Defence Fund.
The costs must be relevant, necessary and directly linked to the preparation of the Horizon Europe or European Defence Fund application. An EUopSTART grant covers up to 50% of the costs incurred during the grant period. The grant period is defined as the period from submitting your application to EUopSTART until the application deadline for Horizon Europe or European Defence Fund.
Expenditure must fall into one of these categories:
Be aware that you can only submit your application to EUopSTART once the final work programme has been published or when the EU has pre-published a draft work programme on the Funding & Tenders portal and the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science has opened for EUopSTART applications via a link on this page. If you submit your application earlier than this date your application will not be processed.
You can find EU calls and application deadlines in the work programmes and on the Funding & Tenders Portal. During 2026, you can apply for funding from the EUopSTART scheme for EU calls with an application deadline no later than 31 December 2027.
You can apply for up to DKK 75,000 or DKK 150,000. The size of the grant depends on your role in the EU application as well as the Horizon Europe or European Defence Fund programme, you are going to apply for. Further information on this can be found in the EUopSTART call texts.
The EUopSTART scheme provides grants of up to 50% your expenses. Therefore, the applicant must co-finance at least 50% of the expenses.
Danish companies and research organizations (GTS) may apply for grants to cover up to 50% of the expenses incurred in preparing an application for one of the Horizon Europe programmes or European Defence Fund.
