Independant Research Fund Denmark (DFF)
In 2026, DFF allocated funding for thematic research within the following politically determined themes:
• Arctic research
• Research in the Unity of the Realm
NordForsk is an organization under the Nordic Council of Ministers that funds Nordic cooperation within research and research infrastructure. Among other things, NordForsk allocates funding for Arctic research.

The Nordic Council of Ministers
The Nordic Arctic Programme supports Nordic-Arctic initiatives and projects, with sustainability as its guiding principle, within everything from environment and climate to social conditions and economic development in the Arctic. NAPA administers the programme on behalf of the Nordic Council of Ministers.
The European Research and Innovation program Horizon Europe
Supports research and innovation in climate adaption, energy, transport and the green transition.
Supports research and innovation in biodiversity, healthy food, animal welfare, fisheries, and the bioeconomy.
Supports independent research within areas such as the Arctic region.
